More English success in Russia with Gilberts

  • 10 Jul 2018

England’s leading independent air movement specialist, Gilberts Blackpool, has supplied ventilation diffusers for Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport Terminal D for international flights.

Mirroring the exterior architecture of the terminal building, over 365m of Gilberts’ GSL curved slot diffuser (the equivalent to the length of three football pitches) was inset into the ceilings in the extensive duty free shopping areas.

Gilberts won the contract because of the GSL’s ability, courtesy of its unique frame and directional control blade, to deliver full, active airflow along the length of the diffuser, even through the non-linear, curving sections, without ‘dummy’ or blank sections.

The diffusers ensure complete ventilation even around the circular and oval ceilings, as the control blade follows to profile of the aluminium outer frame.

Ian Rogers, Gilberts’ Sales Director, talked about the project, with reference to England’s impressive run in the World Cup!

“Even Harry Kane would be impressed with the curvature we created to score with this pitch. So even when waiting for their flights, our players and fans will be keeping their cool, thanks to a contribution from home,” he said.

Gilberts GSL linear slot diffuser can be used for vertical or horizontal air distribution; featuring a unique multi-purpose removable air deflection vane, this ensures a smooth, accurate and flexible airflow.

Individual units can be almost invisibly joined to create as long and curving a run as required.
