Two competing REHAU factories in North Wales will face off on the football field on Saturday 21 July, to raise money for disability charity Scope.
Scope endeavours to make the UK a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else, by offering support to 250,000 disabled people and their families every year, as well as campaigning for equality and fairness.
Employees from the REHAU production facilities in Blaenau, which make UPVC windows and doors, and Amlwch, specialising in cable trunking and edge banding solutions, will go to battle in a 90-minute match at the Nantporth Football Ground.
The Bangor 3G Pitch will be open to the public from 10am and promises lots of fun activities for the whole family; entry is just £2 for adults and kids go free.
The match kicks off at 12.30pm, and there will be a crossbar challenge at half time and a penalty shoot-out for spectators to partake in.
Other activities include a bouncy castle and a face painter for the kids, personalised crafts and gifts for the grown-ups, and lots of other stalls run by local businesses.
Food and refreshments will also be available, including sweets, ice-creams, cakes and milkshakes as well as hot food and snacks.
Martin Hitchin, Chief Executive at REHAU, commented: “There is a friendly competitiveness between our two production facilities in North Wales and I think we will see that played out on the pitch in Bangor – the guys are playing for a really good cause and bragging rights, so it should be a lively 90 minutes of entertainment.
“If football isn’t your thing there’s plenty of other activities going on so it promises to be a really fun day out for the whole family, with lots of money being raised for Scope.”
Scope is REHAU’s chosen charity for this year and as well as the charity football match, 31 REHAU employees nationwide are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge in September.
The gruelling challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scarfell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) over a two-day period.
Challengers walk 23 miles across the three peaks with a total ascent of more than 3,000 metres.
