The Painting and Decorating Association recently hosted its 30th annual awards ceremony and Dulux Trade scooped four gongs on the night, after being nominated for 11 projects in seven categories.
Dulux Trade bagged the prize in the commercial sector after working on a high school in Neston, Cheshire. Nominated in tandem with Cheshire-based Ambrose Ellis Painting Contractors Ltd, the project has transformed the school using Dulux Trade products.
The global paints and coatings manufacturer also received recognition for the part it played in the reinvigoration of St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Oldham, Greater Manchester, where Dulux Trade products were specified by Bernard Watson and his team to redecorate the church, which harks back to the 1800s.
The third win came in the Residential category, after Dulux Trade was specified for the Caring Homes Group to redecorate a social housing project in Cheltenham. Once again, the company was specified for its capabilities of transforming a space using colour – beyond the aesthetic – meaning Ian Williams Ltd could create an environment to enhance the lives of residents, with the sufficient colour palettes, design and tonal differences.
Another win cane for its work on the American Embassy in London, which has moved to Nine Elms, where the stunning piece of architecture now overlooks the River Thames. Working with Wokingham’s AC Beck Contracts Ltd on the new build project, the award was presented to the project partners in the New Build category.
John Kourtoulos, Sales Director, across contractor and specifier markets at AkzoNobel, who collected the awards, commented: “Putting colour into people’s lives goes far beyond what is in our paint tins. For all of us at Dulux Trade, it’s about enriching and improving lives through enhanced environments, and partnering with our valued Contractor customer to achieve these outcomes.
“Being recognised in this way alongside our contractor customers is testament to the work that the entire team does day in, day out.”
