Birkenhead-based customer, MAC Roofing, recently won big at the IMA Awards 2018 at a luncheon held at the Institute of Directors, London in mid-June.
The IMA (Intelligent Membrane Association) is BMI’s network of Icopal-approved contractors, and this year members competed for awards across six product categories.
The event saw MAC Roofing scoop an incredible three awards in the Eco Activ, Single Ply and Liquid Waterproofing categories.
Mitie Tilley (Bristol), Tandragee Roofing and Avonside (Worthing) won the Reinforced Bitumen, Green Roof and FTP/Decra Metal Tiles categories respectively. Mitie Tilley (Bristol) achieved a high-quality installation at 800 Aztec West in North Bristol, Tandragee Roofing secured its win with IQ Elgin Place, a new build student accommodation project while Avonside (Worthing) completed the Cowfold Community & Sports Pavilion to top its category.
Mitie Tilley’s Mitch Ashmead picked up the Craftsman of the Year award most notably for his very detailed work on the 800 Aztec West project.
IMA Chairman, Neil Harrison, took home a new award for 2018 which recognises over 22 years of service and dedication to the association and the roofing industry. Neil has been instrumental in the IMA’s success, its continued growth and of course its very existence since its birth in 1996 so the award was very well deserved.
Finally, the event concluded with a talk from former Royal Marine, Mark Ormrod, who discussed his journey from being blown up in Afghanistan, to become a campaigner, motivator and general champion of charities.
Marmox (UK) Ltd has strengthened its board by promoting its current Finance Manager to the newly created post of Finance Director with immediate effect.
