CONICA Ltd has made a new addition to its growing team, with the acquisition of James Wright as Commercial Director.
James’ main initial aim will be to continue building the UK and Irish business of the Newark-based international sports, play and functional flooring specialist, by strengthening the company’s sales and marketing activities in the sports and play surfacing industry.
He will be a Director of the UK business from his base in Newark, whilst also reporting to Thomas Møller-Nielsen, Global Segment Head – Playgrounds.
James has a wealth of experience in high profile flooring and industrial companies, which includes 14 years as Commercial Director at Degafloor Ltd, a leading resin flooring supplier.
His extensive sales and commercial leadership roles obtained across diverse markets will hold him in good stead here.
James said: “I’m delighted to have joined a recognised industry leader with huge experience in the sectors it serves.
“CONICA has a strong customer base, an exceptional team of people and an outstanding, high quality product range.

Since 1977, the CONICA brand has been renowned for supplying superior sports, play surfacing and resin flooring systems, whilst in the UK, it has established itself as a market leader in the supply of sports and playground surfacing materials.
Richard Hills, CFO for CONICA Ltd, said the business’ search for someone with strong sales and marketing skills led them James’, stating they were confident his experience, expertise and approach will help guide the company to even more success.
The latest Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) report shows builders’ merchants’ value sales in October were up +1.2% compared to the same month last year.
