Keyline Norwich has supplied products to build a memory garden for a couple following the passing of their 17-year-old daughter.
The civils specialist facilitated the supply of 30 bags of cement for Maisie’s memory garden – a space which will give Dawn and Darrell Lossau somewhere to celebrate the life of their daughter, Maisie, who died in August 2022.
The site was initially planned to be an annexe that balanced Maisie’s independence with the need for ongoing daily care. However, the decision to progress a memory garden was made after Maisie sadly became ill and passed away in August 2022.
Keyline was first alerted to the project when a customer reached out asking if the Norfolk branch could donate 30 bags of cement and 10 bulk bags of MOT.
Ray Hibbard, Branch Manager at Keyline Norwich, explains: “When we heard Dawn and Darrell’s story, we were completely onboard to get involved in any way we could.
“The response the Lossaus received was overwhelming with so many local businesses offering their services, so the decision was made to spread the donations. Our part involves supplying 30 bags of cement. It is a privilege to be involved in this project given that it means so much to Maisie’s loved ones.”
Dawn Lossau, mother of Maisie, adds: “We’re extremely grateful for all the help and support we have received at such a difficult time. Not only will Maisie’s memory garden be a place where we can sit and remember her, but most importantly it’ll be somewhere she would love.
“Our goal is to finish construction before Maisie’s 18th birthday in July as we want to host a prom in her honour, and the contributions from our local community have really helped us bring this to fruition.
“We cannot say thank you enough to everyone who’s played a role in creating a permanent spot for us to remember how amazing Maisie was. As part of Maisie’s legacy, we hope to raise awareness for brain tumours, and help people deal with the life changing circumstances brought by this horrible condition.”
