Abet achieves certification for chain of custody standards

  • 29 Jan 2016

Abet Ltd has achieved single site certification for the chain-of-custody standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

The certification follows on from Abet Laminati being awarded both FSC and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC) in January 2014.

FSC is an independent, non-profit organisation established to promote responsible forest management practices worldwide.

As environmental awareness increases, demand for FSC certified chain of custody material has risen drastically in recent years.

The chain of custody follows the path taken by raw materials from the forest to the consumer. This includes each stage from procurement through to distribution and sales.

The ability to prove that materials have come from well managed forests is now a key factor when specifying timer and paper products.

Abet has also gained FSC Mix accreditation by working with BM Trada, an independent third-party certifier of environmental and sustainability claims.
