Abet assist in Grenfell boxing club for DIY SOS Special

  • 20 Sep 2018

Abet Laminati have played a part in DIY SOS Grenfell project’s to build the replacement Dale Youth Boxing Club and new Community Centre.

Abet donated 12mm compact grade high pressure laminate in a grey Zebrano finish for the washrooms and cubicles, as well as a graphite grey for the lockers.

These were supplied to Formwise Washrooms, the specialist manufacturer, supplier and installer of quality cubicles, panels, lockers, changing room furniture and panelling.

With merely a rough brief and a narrow timescale, Formwise were able to design, fabricate and install two complete changing rooms, including toilets and shower cubicles in the boxing club, plus washroom facilities in the community centre.

Formwise Technical Director, Tim Jupp, talked about the pride of being involved in the project, as well as how difficulties were dealt with.

“Only having a narrow window in which to come up with a design from scratch and then manufacture and install could have proved challenging,” he said.

“However, as we employ the whole team in-house from start to finish it meant we were able to pull together to achieve this goal.

“Working closely with Abet and their high-quality laminates, coupled with our in-depth knowledge, has created something special of which we can all be very proud.”

Compact grade laminate is ideal for this kind of heavy-duty application, where visual appeal needs to be coupled with supreme performance and long-life cycles.

Suitable for both wet and dry areas, they are hardwearing, durable and very attractive solutions for cubicle, partition and locker applications with incredible resistance to impact, scratches and abrasion.

Fully Class 0 fire rated, they are perfect for use in areas of high moisture and humidity, as the solid core construction means there is zero risk of peeling, cracking or delamination.
