Aggreko has announced the appointment of Greger Ruud to its Data Centre Sector Sales Team in the Nordics.
This comes as the Nordic data centre markets are set to evolve again over the next three years, because of the entry of new players and an abundance of carbon neutral energy.
Greger joins the team in the role of Sector Development Manager based in Gothenburg, working with the Aggreko depot in Malmo, Sweden and Oslo, Norway.
His new role will see him work closely with end-users, consultants, suppliers and contractors mainly in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, as well as on hyperscale projects in Finland.
Greger has vast experience working with ventilation and climate solutions within data centres, having previously worked for two market leaders in Nordics.
He has also recently been elected as a board member for the Swedish Datacenter Industry Association and is a Certified Data Centre Design Professional (CDCDP).
Greger will work closely with Paul Long, Sector Development Manager at Aggreko, who works with hyperscale sites in Denmark and Sweden as well key contractors in Ireland.
Nick Osborne, Aggreko’s Data Centre Sector Sales Manager – Northern Europe, appointed Greger.
Reflecting on the appointment, Nick commented: “The experience that Greger brings to the team will be invaluable to Aggreko’s customers. His diverse experience allows him to approach jobs with creativity and agility, and adapting to constant change couldn’t be more essential in today’s energy industry.”
As the world’s leading provider of temporary power, temperature control and energy services, Aggreko is already well established in the data centre market having provided its core solutions to major players for many years.
However, with the global shift towards alternative energy solutions, Aggreko is further evolving its offering to support data centres in their transition to a more sustainable future without compromising on power quality or cost.
Nick Osborne added: “Expansion and hyperscale development in the Nordics mean it is a natural growth area for Aggreko.
“We expect various drivers and initiatives will propel the region to increase its share of the west European market over the next three years and we’re confident our offering is evolving at a pace to support some of the most cutting-edge players.”
Greger commented: “The business model for supplying temporary equipment is predominantly reactive. However, I aim to take a more proactive approach as the earlier we can be involved in a project, the better the result for all parties involved.
“I hope that my many years’ experience and broad technical knowledge within and around a data centre, will to add value to Aggreko and its customers. I’m really thrilled to join the company at such an exciting time.”
