The Centre of Excellence has been developed to exhibit the company’s products and offer training resources to its customers. It was launched on 14th January at an event that was attended by many of Aico’s customers.
The Centre aims to entertain and educate its visitors by using an info graphic to mark the key stages in Aico’s 25 year history, as well as the history of its parent company, Ei Electronics.
A series of video monitors have also been fitted to show the nine different stages of Ei’s current alarm manufacturing process.
The 402 square metre space accommodates a meeting room, training arena and a replica of a furnished home.
‘Ember Place’, the Centre’s imitation home, has been fitted with a lounge, kitchen and bedroom, which all have alarms and accessories from Aico installed.
The emulated house has been built into the Centre to provide its visitors with details about the types of products that can be installed by homeowners to protect them against fire and CO risks.
The rooms use infographics to explain the potential risks in a property, whilst Special Applications boards have been fitted to demonstrate how Aico products can be linked with Warden Cal Systems and other third party systems.
‘Ember Place’ is neighboured by a training room, where Aico will run its training courses for its customers.
Its Aico Fire Products Training Installer scheme (AFPTIS), which has been designed for electrical engineers, will be included in its list of courses, as it has had success over the past six years in training over 9,000 people.
A meeting room equipped with an automated projector, LED lighting and other presentation facilities, is also located on the first floor. The room has been designed to accommodate up to 50 people.
