Airtight timber cladding and breather membranes insulate eco lodges

  • 11 Sep 2014

A total of 5,500 square metres of DuPont Tyvek Housewrap was supplied to achieve significant levels of airtightness, moisture control, thermal performance and comfort at the new properties.

The system meets the requirements of the Building Regulations, reduces air leakage to a minimum and allows air permeability to reach levels no higher than 1m3/m2/hr through the frame.

The flat roofed homes are built to beyond Code Level 4 and are enhanced by air source heat pumps and low footprint systems such as DuPont Tyvek, which is naturally vapour open, wind and water tight.

Tyvek works to protect the structures against the worst of the winter weather and harmful condensation, providing a safe and durable solution that is easy to install to exterior walls and roofs.

The system has been rigorously tested and evaluated to ensure compliance to regulations and standards and comes with the technical support service of the DuPont Tyvek team.
