Advanced’s AlarmCalm false alarm management (FAM) system has been shortlisted for the Tomorrow’s FM Awards 2017.
“Delighted” to be nominated for the Tomorrow’s FM award, Advanced’s marketing manager Aston Bowles highlighted the how AlarmCalm system has been developed to overcome the growing problem of false alarms:
“False alarms are one of the big issues currently faced by fire and facilities professionals. It was in response to this global problem that we developed AlarmCalm, which we believe is the most powerful and complete FAM solution available.”
AlarmCalm is Advanced’s complete package for false alarm management, featuring enhanced firmware, comprehensive configuration software for Advanced fire systems and intelligent alarm acknowledgement devices called AlarmCalm Buttons.
The system provides total control over both automatic and manual alarm verification periods and investigation delays to outputs.
AlarmCalm allows a site to be divided into FAM zones called building areas – up to 200 per panel or 40,000 per network – which are used for FAM programming that by default matches fire zones, but can be set independently to cover multiple zones and points or individual points. Using building areas makes even complicated cause-and-effect easy to set up.
The AlarmCalm button can be used manually to verify if an alarm signal is false, for example from smoke as a result of cooking, and includes robust fail-safes.
