Alumasc Rainwater was recently chosen to help complete a major re-vamp of a home in Oundle with its Infinity steel rainwater.
The £1.5m renovation saw the transformation of the original hipped roof of the property into a series of gable ends with six dormer windows with gutters and downpipes installed in between each and coming down onto the glass canopy.
Contractor Steve Kilby of Outside inspiration Ltd looked for something unique to enhance the look of the property, while complementing the anthracite windows and cathedral board. His main materials supplier, Buildbase in Thrapston, recommended Alumasc’s lightweight and stylish Infinity steel rainwater products and put him in touch with Alumasc who visited the site and provided product samples for the homeowner to choose.
Infinity steel rainwater Steel is lightweight, will not crack or corrode, requires little maintenance and resists thermal expansion thanks to the steel. In addition, it also benefits from ‘Robust’ – a unique and innovative polyester colour coating system that consists of three layers of protection for UV and scratch resistance, making it an extremely hard-wearing and durable system that won’t shrink, crack or fade in colour.
Steve Kilby explains: “There were a few challenges – one being the guttering from the six new dormers, which drain on to the glass roof – but with help from Alumasc we came up with a great looking and cost-effective solution. Alumasc’s steel rainwater products were simple to use and easy to install, along with a 15-year product warranty giving peace of mind. The end result is a contemporary and seamless look. The steel blends in well but also contributes to the main features of the house – and it looks amazing. The service and support from Alumasc was excellent too – I can’t fault them.”
