  • 3 Feb 2020

Door Group, a unit of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland, is leading the way in fire door compliance, with two new certifications on its SMARTec timber fire doors.

The SMARTec range of high performance timber doors was launched in 2018 for the public, commercial and high end residential market.

It was originally developed to offer a complete doorset solution of high quality, high performing doors and frames, complete with all ironmongery solutions.

Now with Q-mark and FSC certifications across all commercial timber fire doors, the SMARTec range continues to offer an unrivalled performance, including security and sound reduction properties as well as fire resistance.

Door Group offers complete doorset solutions from one trusted single point of contact, managing the whole process from specification to maintenance.

Now with two new certifications in the SMARTec range, architects, specifiers and contractors can rest assured that doorsets are both fire safe and responsibly sourced.

Door Group aims to help raise the on-going standard of fire door manufacturing and compliance with the Q-Mark certification, showing due diligence and responsibility to its fire door safety commitments.

FCS (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests.

Choosing FSC certified products enables architects, specifiers and contractors to know that products have been sourced and manufactured using responsible forestry practices.

Brian Sofely, Managing Director at ASSA ABLOY Door Group, commented: “Here at Door Group, we pride ourselves on delivering responsible and compliant doorsets to ensure maximum performance and reliability for our customers.

“The high performance SMARTec range aims to help set the industry standard for timber doors, encouraging stakeholders to prioritise safety and sustainability.

“Our portfolio provides a total solution of complete door assemblies in both steel and timber – which for fire safety products, meet with the latest Government recommendations. We can deliver the entire process from start to finish, from initial specification to the manufacture of product, onsite installation and after sales inspections and maintenance of our doors.”
