The process required delivery of accurate door specifications directly to building project models in Revit® and other design software. Errors in the delivery of doors and security components can be costly, in terms of both time and money; minimising mistakes speeds up the build.

Coordinating specification information and the door meeting

Openings Studio software connects architectural design software with databases which hold specification data for door solutions. When approved by project managers, it can deliver detailed specifications directly to popular design packages such as Revit® and ARCHICAD®.

“We determine colour, size, door thickness, and how the sill should be. Eventually hardware specification in Openings Studio is aligned with the function of the doors. We show 3D visualization of the building in the Openings Studio on a large screen and go through the hardware schedule.”

Openings Studio software streamlined all relevant information flows – Ole Madsen adds: “The contractor and the hardware store… can see the same as the rest of us, even without having Revit on their PC.
