Architectural collective Assemble is set to bring its Turner prize-winning Granby project to life at Ecobuild 2017.
The Granby Workshop will showcase its range of experimental handmade products for the home. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the story behind the community-led regeneration of a Liverpool neighbourhood and interact with the products, people and processes involved in the project.
The project will create an immersive experience that will allow visitors to explore a range of stimulating design projects and new ways of working. It will be located in The Campus, the area of Ecobuild dedicated to innovation and technology.
Granby Workshop’s Operations Manager, Sumuyya Khader said that the Granby Workshop staff will work live, demonstrating how their products are made. In addition, visitors will be able to learn more about the clay firing process involved in the original Cairns Street renovations.
Brand Director at Ecobuild, Martin Hurn, said that Assemble has shown that regeneration can be conducted in a way that is sustainable for the local community and the business.
