Balancing cost effective design and performance with Gilberts

  • 12 Aug 2019

The problem of designing and installing effective ventilation without ‘dumping’ cost-efficiently has been overcome with refinements at Gilberts Blackpool.

The company’s new Series GDC builds on the established GD range of square and circular fixed swirl diffusers, now featuring an integral coanda plate to the unit as standard.

It means installation cost and time is reduced , eliminating the need to specify and fit an additional coanda. Once installed, performance is enhanced over conventional swirl diffusers, as the additional integrated plate ensures an enhanced air distribution and entrainment: there is reduced risk of ‘cold dumping’ and draughts commonly caused particularly when a ceiling is not incorporated into the building design.

Gilberts’ Series GD was conceived initially to deliver appealing aesthetics with cost-effective design; the GDC variant takes that concept to the next level.

Each configuration provides a high performance swirl air distribution, delivering high volumes of air onto the space with rapid mixing.

To further facilitate the installation process, Gilberts has designed a matching range of square and circular plenum boxes with top or side entry for the whole GD Series.

The new coanda adaptation also means the Series now covers the whole range of ceiling designs: grids, plaster, tegular and open ceilings.
