Newton 802-DPM, a BBA certified, 100% recycled, loose-laid, low-density polyethylene damp-proof membrane has now been added to Newton’s product portfolio.
Newton 802-DPM is a damp proof membrane, suitable for use below concrete floors or screeds where no groundwater pressure is expected. The membrane sits within the Damp Proofing System, which contains a list of high-quality products that can be utilised in different combinations, dependent on the situation.
The damp proof membrane can be sealed with Newton 809-DPC, a damp-proof course, to extend the damp proof membrane through exterior and spine walls. A range of accessories are available to ensure continuation of DPM and for jointing, including Newton Pipe Collar, Joist Liner and Pipe Sleeve, as well as Newton Waterseal Tape and Overtape.
Resistant to both ageing and cracking and flexible at low temperatures, Newton 802-DPM is suitable for applications in both commercial and domestic properties. The damp proof membrane provides a barrier against vapour and capillary-held moisture, in accordance with clause 11 of CP 102:1973, ensuring that floor finishes are dry and suitable for use below heavy-duty rafts and steel reinforced slabs.
Suitable for more common floor construction, Newton 802-DPM can be used with suspended concrete floors, ground-bearing concrete floors or beam and block floors.
Newton 802-DPM is also simple and easy to install and 100% recycled. The damp proofing membrane has good resistance to elongation and tearing, as well as high water vapour resistance. Therefore, it is an ideal product for damp proofing concrete floors. Available in 1200 gauge (4m x 25m), Newton 802-DPM is suitable for almost all damp proofing installations.
