Freefoam Building Products‘ recent visit to a homeowner saw how PVC cladding has both updated the property and ensured it is warm and comfortable for years to come.
Using Freefoam Fortex Double Shiplap cladding, in the popular Sage Green, Tru Plastics have transformed a home in Coalville, Leicestershire.
The recently retired couple had lived at the property for over 10 years. They wanted to improve the look of the house and install insulation. As well as this, they wished to ensure it was a low maintenance solution, allowing them to spend more time away with friends and family.
Researcheing various cladding options online, they came across Freefoam’s consumer focused website, mycladding.com.
The homeowner explains: “If we’re having work done on our house we like to find out what’s out there and make sure we have all the options.
“We liked the mycladding site, it gave us all the information we needed, with product options and colour choices. I also noticed Freefoam cladding could be fitted with insulation, so completed the Quote Request form.”
Freefoam manage every lead received to the site, and put the homeowners in touch with local installation company Tru Plastics.
The homeowner adds: “We were really pleased with Tru Plastics. They came out to quote, bought some samples and explained how the job would be completed.
“We felt really confident in their straightforward approach. Although we’d had other cheaper quotes, we chose them to do the work.”
The existing ‘tudor’ style timber boards were very discoloured and needed replacing. The front aspect of the property faces Northwest, so the living room often felt cooler than elsewhere in the house.
Russell Skellett, Managing Director Tru Plastics, explains: “We removed the existing boards and the style of the house enabled us to fit insulation behind the new cladding. We took the boards around the sides of the house to create a really smart façade. The green complements the colour of the brick and looks good with the Rosewood windows too.”
PVC cladding is fast becoming the ‘ultimate’ home improvement product. Installers are finding it is lighter and easier to handle than other cladding products. It requires no surface preparation or treatment saving time, expense on repeat visits or extended scaffold hire. Just install and go!
The homeowner summarises: “We’re really pleased with the new look. It is certainly a transformation. We’ve noticed it’s warmer at the front of the house, and we can now relax in the knowledge that we won’t have any more on-going maintenance.
“We’ve had lots of comments from neighbours about how nice it looks, so much so that a house nearby has also had Freefoam cladding fitted after seeing ours.”
Cladding may not be on every installer’s radar, but it’s a great way to add value and help installers stand out from the competition by creating stunning home transformations either as a standalone project or as part of a window and door installation.
