Bennetts Associates has been named Office Architect of the Year at the 12th annual BD Architect of the Year Awards at Ecobuild.

Hosted by Stephen Fry, the event was held on the evening of Ecobuild’s Architecture day at London’s Excel.

The Office Architect of the Year Award, sponsored by GEZE UK, was open to architects working on the design of new built or refurbished offices. Eight candidates were shortlisted for the award, and Bennetts Associates was announced as the winner at the London Excel on March 9th.

Rob Bearyman, Associate for Bennetts Associates commented: “We are delighted to win the BD Office Architect of the Year Award. Although we are also well known for theatres, universities and other building-types, it is great to receive recognition for our most recent office projects.

The Awards celebrate the very best in architecture and it is fantastic to see manufacturers such as GEZE supporting them.”

Speaking after presenting the award to the winners, Kaz Spiewakowski, managing director of GEZE UK added: “We are delighted to have sponsored the Office Architect of the Year Award. The quality of all the practices shortlisted demonstrates just how much talent there is in the UK and it must have been a tough decision for the judges.

We work closely with architects on a daily basis to help make their vision become a reality and have enjoyed being part of such a respected event that recognises their achievements.”
