Kingspan Insulation’s TEK and OPTIM-R product ranges have achieved a ‘Very Good’ rating under BES 6001: Responsible Sourcing of Construction Products.

To achieve BES 6001 compliance, a company must address certain processes to ensure its construction materials are sourced responsibly. The standard’s framework encompasses supply chain management and organisational governance, in addition to environmental and social elements.

The certification has provided independent assurance that Kingspan Insulation’s TEK and OPTIM-R ranges – which are manufactured at its North Yorkshire and Herefordshire sites respectively – are produced with responsibly sourced, constituent materials.

The certification, which was carried out by BRE Global to Issue 3.0 of BES 6001, also offers confirmation that Kingspan’s Kooltherm, Therma and KoolDuct product ranges have retained their existing ‘Excellent’ ratings.

With BES 6001 certification, the Kingspan products are qualified to contribute to the award of credits within the BREEAM assessment. The accreditation reinforces the company’s position as a sustainable and responsible manufacturer.
