A London home has been transformed with the addition of a modular rooflight from Glazing Vision.
Minimal framework and an integrated VisionVent rooflight provided essential natural daylight and ventilation to the previously dark and closed kitchen area.
Situated in the beautiful and charming Clapham Old Town, the Victorian terraced house received a much-needed overhaul.
Creating additional space within the London area can be challenging, but simple changes with the layout of a home can make huge differences to a home.
Holt Group were tasked with creating a stylish contemporary extension, which would encompass natural daylight throughout, give a greater flow throughout the property and also provide views of the garden.
A basement was dug under the existing property and the contemporary extension added to the read, house a stylish split-level kitchen/dining room.
The bespoke kitchen is a real feature room in the home, with polished concrete flooring, slate worktops and a bespoke rooflight from Glazing Vision which helps to flood the property with natural daylight despite the lack of window opportunity on the walls of the property.
A bespoke multi-part fixed rooflight was specified with an integrated VisionVent, helping to provide ventilation for the home.
The minimal framework of the product and electronic operation of the VisionVent have enabled a clean and contemporary finish that fits in with the rest of the renovation and provides a feature to the kitchen.
On the first floor, an office ‘pod’ was added to the rear, featuring a seamless glass bonded junction that provides panoramic views of the garden.
Coupled with the modular rooflight, this has provided a much-required connection with the outdoors, as well as injecting much need daylight and natural ventilation within the property – a key necessity in any home, but not always achievable in city areas.
The homeowners were delighted with the new design and contemporary feel to their updated home, and it has really helped the mantra of ‘don’t move, improve’, a common theme sweeping across London and the UK.
