The new infographic has been released to reinforce the on-going message, that we all need to be alert when it comes to our own mental fitness and that of our friends, work-mates and loved ones. Using a YES/NO scenario, it drives home how easily life can get on top of us and how quickly we can spiral if we keep things bottled up.
The All Safe Minds campaign was launched in 2017, in response to the frightening statistics surrounding depression and suicide amongst young men in the construction sector. It has gained some major coverage over the past year, and the company is determined to keep the momentum up.
Mark French is head of health safety and environment for the Willmott Dixon Group, he comments: “The initial response to All Safe Minds has been overwhelmingly positive. Our industry partners and the trade press have all been highly supportive, but this is a continuing challenge and we need to keep driving the campaign forward.
“Attitudes are definitely changing, and from an internal viewpoint we at Willmott Dixon are seeing a massive increase in people coming forward, asking for support either for themselves, or out of concern for a colleague.
“But we also understand there are people who just aren’t comfortable talking face-to-face about life’s problems, so the infographic is there to highlight the resources you can tap into privately. There are many routes to support, we just need to keep reminding each other of what they are.”
