Visitors to FIREX International, held in ExCel London’s South Gallery, will have the opportunity to attend the free seminar, which will provide delegates with an excellent overview of fire door design, manufacture, testing, installation and certification.
The seminar will cover a range of topics, including: Anatomy of fire resistant doorsets; Testing and Assessment; Reality of site installation and maintenance; and third party certification.
The seminar session is targeted at anyone with a responsibility for the manufacture, installation, maintenance or inspection of fire doors – providing an in-depth understanding of the structure and each of the components that make up a fire-resisting doorset, fire test requirements and the role of third party certification.
Visitors will also be invited to join a guided tour of BM TRADA’s Passive Fire Protection Demonstration Zone on stand C165.
The tour will feature a full-size corridor and suspended ceiling simulation – demonstrating best practice specification and installation of passive fire protection measures including fire doors, service pipes, cables, light switches and downlighters.
The Passive Fire Protection Demonstration Zone will also demonstrate how passive fire protection measures work to prevent the spread of fire using full size display models of a charred fire door and glazing system.
The tour will also feature a series of short films of a fire resistance test on a pair of doors, a glazing system and pipes and cables – to demonstrate the importance of good installation and the difference in performance of correctly and incorrectly specified and installed door, glass and fire stopping components.
A further live seminar will take place later in the afternoon, in the Expertise & Guidance Theatre.
During the seminar, BM TRADA will be broadcasting a live 30 minute fire door test from its fire testing facility in High Wycombe.
