British Gas’ Hive team at Smart Buildings 2015

Industry leaders in intelligent heating controls and smart home technology, Hive was set up by British Gas in 2012 with the mandate to make the connected home an accessible reality for every household.

Hive Active HeatingTM2 connected thermostat

Hive will be exhibiting some of the most innovative products in the smart buildings sector including Hive Active HeatingTM2, its new connected thermostat that lets people control their heating and hot water from their mobile, tablet and laptop, giving greater control and potential cost savings on heating bills.

More than 200,000 households across the UK use the multi-award winning product, which comes with installation by a British Gas engineer.

What’s more, homeowners don’t need to be a British Gas customer to have Hive Active Heating™ as it works no matter which company supplies their energy.

Smart Buildings 2015 is one of nine events brought together by Media 10, the UK’s biggest design and build event company, under the umbrella of UK Construction Week.

Taking place at the Birmingham NEC from 6 – 11 October (with the trade days from 6 – 8 October), the event will unite over 1,000 exhibitors with more than 55,000 visitors.

Richard Morey, Group Events Director at Media 10: “We are delighted that Hive, a British Gas innovation and one of the most recognisable names in the industry, has signed up to Smart Buildings 2015. The intelligent buildings sector is transforming the way we work and live so it was essential that we catered for it as part of UK Construction Week. Our aim for Smart Buildings 2015 is to support the sector as it develops and help drive growth through providing a platform for networking, learning and creating new business.  As true pioneers in the industry, I’m excited to see what will be on show at Hive’s stand.”

Smart Building 2015 will be supported by a comprehensive seminar schedule packed with debates, workshops and panel discussions that focus on the key issues facing the industry today. With participation from some of the leading innovators, training providers and manufacturers, as well as the opportunity for visitors to join in, Smart Buildings 2015 provides a valuable platform to engage with and learn from professionals at all levels.

As well as Smart Buildings 2015, visitors will be able to attend the Build Show, Timber Expo, the Surface and Materials Show, Energy 2015, Kitchens & Bathrooms Live, Plant & Machinery Live, HVAC 2015 and Grand Designs Live.
