Bull Products has strengthened its presence in the shipbuilding industry, after securing a partnership with a major Norwegian distributor.
Working alongside Vestcom, a major wireless communication supplier in Norway, Bull has recently supplied over 50 of its renowned Cygnus Wireless Alarms to several Norwegian Shipyards: Kleven Group, Vard Group and Ulstein Group.
The ships are currently being transformed into luxury cruise ships, ferries and offshore vessels.
A major innovation in wireless emergency fire, first aid, and intruder alarms for construction sites, the Cygnus radio system, manufactured by Bull Products, is an efficient and versatile temporary alarm system for contractors to protect workers during the construction phase.
The units installed on the ships include the Cygnus Control Panel, Cygnus Call Point Alarm, Cygnus Detector Interface, and 25 of Bull’s Fire First Responder Stations.
The responder stations ensure all fire protection equipment, such as fire extinguishers and signage, are all located in one convenient place and can be moved around the site with ease.
Ferenc Szell, MD at Vestcom, commented: “Due to the nature and cost of this project, it was imperative that we invested in the most advanced alarm system that we could find.
“We required an adaptable wireless alarm system that could provide a strong enough signal to work on these ships but the previous alarm system we had was outdated and simply couldn’t meet the complex demands of this project.
“Investing in Bull Products was the way forward for us to ensure we protect workers and safeguard the ships.”
Matthew Trigwell, Sales Director at Bull Products, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Vestcom and providing our Cygnus wireless alarm system to such a unique project.
“Vestcom is a great partner to work and we’re pleased that the initial trial went smoothly – it puts us in a great position to work with them on further projects in the future.
“Our system has been developed to address the needs of the market, regardless of the complexity of the project, and we believe this will strengthen our place within the ship building market and open up new opportunities in order to grow further overseas.”
