Burglaries rise by 20% during winter months due to poor home security

The company has joined its sister brand, Yale, to create awareness relating to home security by providing a series of tips on how to keep safe, with topics including dark nights, door and window security, protecting your valuables, outdoor and home security.

Recent published statistics have shown that burglaries increase by up to 20% when the clocks change, making homeowners more vulnerable to attack if their home appears easy for criminals to enter.

UNION will be providing advice on the benefits of using authorised trade suppliers during door and window security week, in order to help combat the criminals who take advantage of the darker nights.

Supporters of the initiative include ABLOY, Mul-T-Lock, Yale Door and Windows Solutions, Yale Security Point, Yale Door, Screwfix, Homebase, B&Q, The Lock Shop, Maplin, Huws Gray, CEF, Ongo, Locksmiths and MLA.
