C-TEC’s new 4-loop ZFP addressable fire alarm panel and Quantec call system have been installed at a new residential care home in Essex.
Mistley Manor in Manningtree is a private luxury care home which offers specialist dementia care, respite stays and retreat packages.
As the establishment houses elderly and often vulnerable residents, fire safety is an essential element.
C-TEC’s ZFP 4-loop touchscreen-controlled panel is connected to over 300 fire detectors, sounders, VADs and interface units to provide the utmost protection.
The panel features a touchscreen display that provides constant feedback on fire alarm system activity and, in an emergency, will highlight the exact location of a fire.
A ZFP Compact Controller has been installed in the facility’s entrance foyer. This allows staff to isolate certain aspects of the system; ensuring that the alarmed security doors and lifts remain functional during the weekly fire alarm test, for instance.
In addition to the ZFP fire alarm panel, C-TEC’s Quantec addressable call system has been installed to allow communication throughout the building.
The system features multiple call levels, including standard, en-suite, help required, emergency and staff attack. It also includes easy-to-use call points, ceiling pulls and monitoring points and displays to ensure the care and protection of both patients and staff.
Mike Gilham of Eastern Fire was part of the team which carried out the project. He commented:
“Outstanding patient care and staff efficiency is vital in facilities housing elderly people – we specified Quantec as it has an excellent track record of saving staff time and improving patient care in nursing homes and other care facilities.
Also the support and personal involvement of Phil Walford of C-TEC throughout the project was fantastic and we are currently involved in a number of other projects with Phil to be completed shortly.”
Third-party certified to EN54 Parts 2 & 4, the ZFP fire panel can be configured to suit any application and is fully compatible with C-TEC’s new range of EN54 certified addressable Sounders and VADs.
