C-TEC life-safety system used for exclusive Maldives resort

  • 5 Sep 2017

The Velaa Private Island now features C-TEC‘s high-performance EN54-certified switch-mode power supplies for powering life safety systems on the island.

The former melon plantation is now a holiday destination with 47 guest villas, a Michelin starred restaurant, golf course and private submarine.

Due to adverse weather conditions and being reliant on diesel generators rather than mains, the island required an alternative.

The C-TEC power supplies feature a deep discharge battery protection and EN54 compliant reporting of battery impedance faults. In addition, the BF362-5 units are supplied in tough durable metal boxes and include single-pole volt-free changeover relays that switch for any fault condition.

Filip Langer, MD of Avalon, the Prague-based fire specialist company which completed the project, explains: “We specified C-TEC’s power supplies as they are renowned for their reliability, energy efficiency and for delivery high performance input voltage in any environment.”
