Cala Homes choose Origin doors for Scottish riverside development

  • 21 Jul 2023

Premium housebuilder, Cala Homes, chose Origin doors for its contemporary riverside development in Scotland. The luxury development consisted of a mixture of four, five, and six-bedroom properties, as well as a six-story block of high-end flats.

Situated next to a picturesque riverbank, it was crucial each property could enjoy views of the stunning natural surroundings to boost appeal to potential buyers.

OS-20

The Origin OS-20 Artisan Sliding Door was selected as the perfect glazing option for the project as it allows for large expanses of glass for maximum ‘wow factor’ whilst offering minimal sightlines of just 20mm, as well as the highest levels of thermal efficiency and security.

Modern, sleek, and stylish, the OS-20 glides smoothly to create a seamless transition between the inside and outside, and offer uninterrupted views.

The premium grade aluminium door accommodates large maximum individual panel sizes of up to 6sqm for a truly dramatic effect. Like all Origin products, the OS-20 is made completely bespoke in the UK and can be specified to suit each home’s individual requirements, including a choice of over 150 RAL colours.

Popular colours

This development opted for two of Origin’s most popular colours 7016M (Anthracite Grey) and 9005M (Jet Black) to complement the ultra-modern look the developers wanted to create. The doors were specified in various configurations to suit different property types. Six door sets were used for larger properties with living areas overlooking gardens, whilst two door sets were used for bedrooms with balconies.

Cala Homes also opted to add fixed panes alongside sliding panels to some doors to maximise the amount of glazing used in the properties and boost natural light. The OS-20 boasts excellent thermal efficiency benefits, meaning properties remain warm in the winter and cool in the summer, while opening the home to beautiful views all year round.

Plus, it helps housebuilders meet more stringent sustainability and thermal efficiency regulations and keeps energy bills to a minimum for the future homeowners.
