Can I have a pencil proof LST radiator?

  • 14 Feb 2019

A key concern when installing LST radiators into schools and nurseries is the issue of small items, particularly pencils, being pushed through the grilles. Contour’s LST radiators come pre-punched with grilles to prevent small items being pushed through the radiator cover or fingers getting caught, offering schools and nurseries peace of mind.

The grille design uses 5.5mm wide radius grilles. The radius grille design makes it easier to clean being a flat surface.

By punching the grille directly out of the casing rather than using a second proprietary grille, they are easier to clean in terms of accessibility and time. In addition, they are also stronger and have a reduced level of heat loss because the air isn’t being trapped by multiple layers of grille.

Consequently, this reduces the number of accidents around LST radiators in schools and means that students are free to go about their learning without the risk of injury.

With pencil proof grilles on Contour LST radiator covers, you can create a space that is safe for all. Children will be less at risk of catching their fingers in the grilles and they will not be able to push pencils and stationery items through the grilles into the radiator covers.

The grilles are easier to clean and there is less heat loss as a result of the exclusion of a second proprietary grille.
