Contractors dry lined the Oldroyd membrane using timber battens and plasterboard and then laid pointed brick slips on the lower portion of the wall, enabling the room to keep much of its original character due to the combination of plaster and brick.

The project uses 85% of recycled material to produce a building which can demonstrate ways in which to combat the 45% contribution to CO2 emissions created in the UK through architectural structures.

The system was fitted by Maclennan UK to eradicate the water ingress causing problems in the basement of the property and provide an easy to maintain solution.

Contractor Trace Basements were appointed to design and install the system at the 138 bedroom hotel, featuring a five-a-side pitch on the roof.
