Similar schemes involving stand alone semi underground collection points are proving successful across European countries such as the Netherlands and Finland, providing a way to move waste without stretching manufacturing resources.

As new ‘zero waste’ legislations get underway in Scotland, banning materials such as metal, plastic, glass, paper, card and food from going to landfill, Dave predicts that similar initiatives are expected to come into force across the UK and advises companies to pay more attention to how bins are produced.

Manufacturing and transportation of the materials is carried out with as little CO2 waste as possible, with bins collected and processed in the UK ready to be shipped on to ESE plants across Europe to be made into containers.
