Cement slates used in property development

  • 23 Jan 2015

‘The Poppies’ houses have been built by Hillreed Homes and finished with Cembrit’s Zeeland fibre cement slates

Russell and Russell Roofing selected Cembrit’s Zeeland cement slates as a visual enhancement to the external weatherboard and brick finish of the properties.

The cement slates, which have been designed with square edges and a textured surface, were chosen in the shades black and blue to provide the natural finish that ‘The Poppies’ homes required.

Zeeland cement slates are fashioned using Portland cement with a blend of synthetic and cellulose fibres.

The slates are polished with a semi-matt acrylic coloured varnish, which is coated on the face and the edges.

A tinted binder is then applied to the back face.

Cembrit’s Zeeland cement slates are manufactured to meet the requirements of BS EN 492: 2004. They have been awarded a variety of environmental and quality accreditations.
