Changing Places on the motorway with Closomat

  • 19 Mar 2019

Motorway services operators are heading to the toilet to improve customer services and open their doors to more customers, courtesy of Closomat.

The company has just carried out the installation of equipment for two of the latest Changing Places assisted accessible toilets, these being for MOTO, at Medway and Leigh Delamere.

This means there are now over 30 Changing Places at motorway services across the UK, evidence motorway services companies are among the leaders in commitment to accessibility and provision of Changing Places (only the UK airport network has a more complete range of such facilities in the country).

Changing Places toilet provision is ‘best practice’ in venues open to the public under current Standards.

Claire Haymes, Closomat Changing Places project co-ordinator, commented: “We know that people who need Changing Places toilets make a point of going to venues that accommodate them. Services that have installed them have reported an obvious increase in visitors, and multiple daily usage of the facility(+).

“These latest Changing Places we have installed contribute towards the relief for the tens of thousands of people who need Changing Places.

“When they’re travelling on the motorway at least, they will be able to enjoy a comfort break in an appropriate environment, and they now have a greater choice as to where they break their journey.”

Closomat has become the ‘go to’ company for Changing Places, having been the original sponsor of the Changing Places campaign a decade ago.
