VPS is working with G4S to ensure that the pre-Christmas security needs of those with vacant property or building sites are met.
According to a recent survey, 92% of construction sites experience regular theft; on a standard weekly basis, over 1 in 5 sites suffer theft or vandalism.
This tends to worsen over the festive period. Plant, equipment, fuel and materials are often left unattended on building sites during the closedown for the Christmas season; naturally, this leads to a significant increase in crime.
Although the holiday period is fast approaching, VPS and G4S are adamant that there is still time to introduce or enhance security on vacant sites across the UK.
Christmas security solution
The companies are offering a complete security solution, which incorporates G4S’ nationwide network of monitoring solutions, as well as VPS’ wireless Smart Alarms and JCB Smart Tower range.
An e-mailer has been distributed to the building sector to help to ensure that insurance compliance is met over the holiday season. The companies are also encouraging property managers to keep their sites well-protected.
