Clamp-on energy metering solution by Micronics

  • 6 May 2015

Measuring heat and energy consumption is a key area in building services and energy management.

However, installation costs – which cover a system drain down and pipe cutting – have acted as a barrier to wider application of sub-metering in the industry.

The U1000 HM provides installation savings for heat/energy metering

U1000HM has been designed as an affordable solution, developed alongside its U1000 clamp-on flow meter to facilitate the wider use of clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement for water sub-metering and heat/energy measurement.

Clamp-on design

The clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter is designed to provide accurate measurement of liquid flowing within a closed pipe in addition to the flow and return temperature difference to calculate the heat/energy load.

The U1000HM operates by clamping the unit onto the pipe, selecting its size and releasing the sensor clamps.

It then secures the pre-wired, clamp-on PT100 flow and returns temperature sensors, connecting the power to the pre-wired cable provided.

The clamp-on meter is also Modbus compatible, so it can be used as a standalone meter or an integrated part of an aM&T or BEM’s system.

Groundworkers - improve your tender success rates with Tobermore's Secura Portal

For groundworkers, tendering residential retaining wall projects can be a time-consuming and complicated process. The key is to tender using Tobermore’s Secura modular concrete block retaining walls rather than the default masonry specification & the Secura Portal, an online tool.
