Clamp-on flow meters help hotel group achieve significant energy savings

  • 25 Apr 2016

Micronics’ Ultraflo clamp-on flow meters have been used by ETAF Management to help optimise plant operations and achieve energy savings of up to 30% in hotels throughout Europe.

ETAF Management specialise in Energy Management. The company was recently contacted to verify the ‘useful heat’ used for a 778kW combined heat and power unit in a major hotel group for tax purposes.

ETAF’s Architecture Technician, Alvaro Alvarez, specified the Micronics Ultraflo U3000 as a solution.

The Ultraflow (U3000) has been developed to provide sustainable performance in industrial environments thanks to its compact and reliable design.

The flow meters allow accurate flow measurement from the outside of the pipe, making measurement a quick and easy process which is cost-effective compared to traditional in-line meters.

Alvaro commented that he was “delighted” with the Micronics U3000. He said: “We deal with very big volumes so wanted relatively easy, surface mounted installation. The U3000 offered exactly the features we needed and I would have no hesitation using it in other projects where precise flow measurement is required.”
