Clos-o-Mat provides high standard accessibility for care homes

  • 2 Jun 2017

Clos-o-Mat now provides a complete fixed track hoist service, from design advice, to supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Clos-o-Mat’s hoists enable moving a person finitely within a single room or room-to-room transfer, from the floor or a piece of furniture or equipment. The hoists can lift up to 31 stone (200kg) with soft start and stop operation.

“Under the British Standard, 5% of bedrooms in a nursing or residential home should be accessible and include a fixed track hoist, and it is ‘the preferred solution’ for the bedroom to include en-suite sanitary accommodation. Further, the accessible bedroom and en-suite should cater for as wide a range of disabilities as possible,” explains Kelvin Grimes, Clos-o-Mat’s moving and handling project manager.

In addition to the hoist range, Clos-o-Mat offers the Vita range of wash and dry toilets, Aerolet toilet lifters, and accessible bathroom accessories, all designed to deliver client dignity and optimum hygiene in intimate care.

Clos-o-Mat also manufactures and supplies its height adjustable counterpart, the Lima Lift and provides a selection of personal care ancillaries – toilet lifters, height adjustable washbasins, hoists, changing benches and body driers.
