  • 1 Apr 2022

Crown Paints has provided hoteliers Malmaison & Hotel du Vin a five-star colour treatment, following an eight year partnership with the hotel chain which has resulted in beautiful, luxury spaces for guests to enjoy.

Part of the Frasers Hospitality GroupMalmaison & Hotel du Vin pride themselves on modern and metropolitan rooms oozing opulence.

With a total of 36 hotels nationwide, each hotel boasts a unique design scheme. These ranges from classic heritage themes to more eclectic-inspired styles.

Working in partnership with Crown Paints’ Architect and Design (A&D) team and Colour Studio, the hoteliers’ development team have created bespoke colour schemes for each hotel using Crown Paints’ Fandeck, which has more than 1,400 colours to choose from.

Regularly assess

To make sure Malmaison & Hotel du Vin remain at the forefront of design trends, the hoteliers and Crown Paints’ A&D and Colour Studio teams regularly assess their room schemes. And, when a room needs a refresh, a colour consultation period is held, where Crown Paints bring to life the latest trends through colour.

More than 20 colours have been chosen since the partnership between Crown Paints and the hoteliers began, with guests regularly praising both hotel brands on their opulent décor.

Malmaison & Hotel du Vin initially approached Crown Paints seeking support to extend their paint maintenance cycles. The constant cleaning their housekeeping teams were undertaking was affecting the longevity of the paint in use from another manufacturer.

Trial period

Following a trial period using Crown Paints Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt, a stain-resistant paint that can withstand regular and rigorous cleaning, Malmaison & Hotel du Vin chose Crown Paints as their sole paint supplier. Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt now features throughout the Malmaison & Hotel du Vin portfolio.

Jonathan Livesey, Development Director at Malmaison & Hotel du Vin, says: “As soon as guests walk through our doors, we want them to feel like they’ve stepped into a unique luxury space. The paint colours we choose is a hugely important element of our overall design schemes.

“All 36 of our hotels have bespoke design and decoration, so we need a paint partner that works closely with our development team to provide the latest paint colours to complement our schemes. Crown Paints’ A&D team and Colour Studio have been excellent to work alongside for all these years.”

Dave Burkett, business development manager at Crown Paints, said: “Malmaison & Hotel du Vin are known for their high-end look and feel. We always enjoy working with their development team to create bespoke schemes and, with more than 1,400 paint colours available to us, it means we’re never short of ideas.

“For us, it’s not just paint. It’s personal. Briefs like these where we work closely with the A&D community to bring their ideas to life is what Crown Paints is all about, so it’s great to be able to do that with such well-known luxurious hotel chains like Malmaison & Hotel du Vin.”
