Crown Paints is offering colour specification inspiration, expertise and guidance for specifiers, via its Colour Service Team
When public and private properties undergo renovation, colour specification is an important consideration. As well as being a primary design concern, the application of a colour scheme can make a significant difference to people with dementia and visual impairments.
Assembled to offer colour expertise and advice for specifiers, Crown Paints’ Colour Service Team can provide bespoke colour scheming for a variety of projects.
Via computer aided design, the team can create exterior and interior schemes; for certain projects, a face-to-face consultation can be arranged.
The team possesses a small library of sector-focused colour books, which provide colour application advice for specific environments, such as healthcare, education and housing.
To offer further guidance, Crown Paints has developed two CPDs on the subject: ‘The Role of Colour in Buildings’ provides information on colour psychology and the role it can play in creating atmosphere, lighting and perceptions of room dimensions.
The CPD session features advice on creating Equality Act-compliant colour schemes, and information on Crown Paints’ SCAN colour coding system.
The company’s second CPD, ‘Colour In Education’, addresses similar topics, exploring them in the specific context of the educational sector.
