Crown Decorating Centres’ Warrington branch has donated a thousand litres of Crown Trade Paint to 100 flood-hit local residents.
In January this year, flooding in the North West had a devastating impact on the local community, causing damage to hundreds of homes in the area, with Warrington particularly affected.
The community swiftly united to create a support group to help the residents of 100 homes in the Bewsey and Dallam areas of Warrington, which were worst affected by the floods.
The CDC store team in Warrington were eager to assist the cause and help their local community get back on their feet and start rebuilding their homes after the flood waters had receded.
The team speedily organised a donation of paint to the hub point for collection by any of the affected local residents, which had been set up by the local council, together with the support group.
In total, Crown donated 1,000 litres of Crown Trade Matt Vinyl Emulsion in white, which will be enough for all the homes affected. The paint is perfect for use on new plaster, so will allow residents to repaint new plaster quickly to make their houses feel like homes again, as soon as possible.
Brian Ashton, CDC Warrington store manager, commented: “We pride ourselves on serving our local community here in Warrington so when we saw the damage caused by the floods, we knew we had to help.
“It’s actually been quite emotional to speak to some of the flood victims and hear what they’ve gone through over these last few weeks.
“They’ve lost so much due to the floods and their homes have been severely damaged, which will take months to put right. I’m proud of the team here and glad that we’ve been able to help, even in a small way, to get the local community back on its feet again.”
