CTD Architectural Tiles gets to work on latest office refurbishment

  • 25 Nov 2022

Leading commercial tile supplier CTD Architectural Tiles has curated a bespoke tile package for the refurbishment of Birmingham’s landmark 54 Hagley Road shared office building.

Located in the city’s trendy Edgbaston district, the scheme has seen the building’s communal spaces transformed into a highly desirable business hub that is in equal parts stylish and practical.

As a specialist supplier, CTD Architectural Tiles was able to provide a modern tile package to achieve a sleek finish without compromising on the safety and durability considerations required for the building’s highest traffic areas including the reception and café.

CTD Architectural Tiles supplied several tile collections for the scheme, including the Aspenwood porcelain floor tile for 54 Hagley Road’s café space as well as part of the building’s entrance.

The collection of wood-effect tiles is inspired by the natural beauty of the Aspen Mountains, and this endlessly stylish finish is ideally suited to entrance spaces which set the tone for the rest of the building.

Pendulum Test Value

Popular thanks to its highly desirable combination of form and function, the Aspenwood collection also offers users an anti-slip solution guaranteed by a Pendulum Test Value (PTV) rating of 36.

The limestone-inspired Flodsten collection was also installed throughout the refurbished communal spaces including the reception area to complement Aspenwood’s modern take on natural materials, with both collections used together.

Large format grey porcelain tiles were installed next to the wood-style flooring for a contrasting yet harmonious effect to guide users to different zones within the space. Flodsten offers an exceptional PTV rating of 40 under both wet and dry conditions, making it the ideal choice for this high traffic area of the building.

Scala & Step completed this commercial tile package, with the collection’s matt black Metro-style wall tile used behind the café counter for a sleek finish.

The Scala & Step and Aspenwood collections are part of CTD Architectural Tiles’ ‘From UK Stock’ range. This core collection of tiles – covering a range of styles, requirements and budgets – is available for next day delivery across the UK, providing added reassurance on supply and demand by ensuring tiles are received on time and in full.
