CTD Architectural Tiles has helped create an iconic industrial look for the new Starbucks coffee house located in the heart of London’s revamped Battersea Power Station.
The once derelict Grade II listed building and surrounding area has been reinvented as one of London’s most exciting retail and leisure destinations, with a host of cafés and eateries including the popular Starbucks brand.
The new store at Battersea Power Station fuses industrial elements with Art Deco style, and incorporates a stunning floor tile package supplied by CTD Architectural Tiles.
The main floor area features the grey-brown Fango tiles from the Grecale range, manufactured by Refin. This stone-effect glazed porcelain tile is inspired by the imperfections and texture of windswept limestone, with a seamless blend of light and dark spots creating a stylish uniform finish.
Specified as a large format 600 x 600mm tile, Grecale is durable, easy to maintain and offers a high slip resistance in both wet and dry conditions. Thanks to its suitability for use in high-traffic hospitality areas, Starbucks has chosen Grecale as its main floor covering for its UK stores.
CTD Architectural Tiles’ involvement in the creation of Starbucks’ new store at Battersea Power Station builds on the commercial tile suppliers’ long-term relationship with the global coffee house chain.
CTD Architectural Tiles has worked closely with 23.5 Degrees, Starbucks’ first UK franchised business partner, to provide the commercial tile package for over numerous stores and drive-thru outlets in the UK since 2013.
Although each Starbucks store boasts its own unique design inspired by its locality, the commercial wall and floor tiles used are chosen from a carefully curated suite of products, all of which are stocked by CTD Architectural Tiles.
With extensive experience of designing, supplying and delivering commercial tiles packages for projects across the hospitality, retail, and leisure sector, CTD Architectural Tiles’ extensive collection of wall and floor ceramic and porcelain tile solutions features products from the world’s leading tile manufacturers.
A large number of tiles are held in stock in the UK to help reduce lead times and technical support on a wide range of design and application issues is available from CTD Architectural Tiles’ experienced specification team.
