CUPA PIZARRAS launches online CPDs for architects and specifiers

  • 9 Dec 2020

CUPA PIZARRAS, the world leader in natural slate, is now hosting two online CPDs, which are free to attend with tickets available via eventbrite.

The first of the CPDs will discuss the technical and design criteria for specifying slate, with the second covering the benefits of using a natural slate rainscreen cladding system.

The specification of natural slate CPD seminar will cover the key design and technical factors that need to be considered. The presentation will explain the manufacturing process used by CUPA PIZARRAS, as well as the importance of traceability and testing.

Furthermore, the CPD will also discuss the classification of slate and the fixing methods available to ensure confidence when making a final product and system selection.

Available to attend each month, the natural slate rainscreen cladding system CPD will provide an overview of the benefits of using natural slate as a sustainable, non-combustible cladding system.

The CPD will also cover the production and application of natural slate cladding systems from technical and practical viewpoints. In addition, the CUPA PIZARRAS team will present the different fixing methods available and the importance of choosing a BBA approved system.

Terry Collins, Specification Manager at CUPA PIZARRAS, commented: “We have developed the online CPDs to ensure specifiers can still access key information during the pandemic and for when they are working from home.

“We want to ensure that they are well informed about the production process, accreditation procedure and testing of CUPA PIZARRAS products, as well as how to approach the use of slate cladding – something that is becoming increasingly popular in the UK.”

If you cannot make it to one of the live events, CUPA PIZARRAS will also be hosting an on demand CPD on Barbour ABI’s platform discussing the specification process for roofing slate.

Architects and specifiers will be able to watch the video presentation at any time via the Barbour ABI website.
