Agrippa pillow alarm alerts deaf guests at boutique hotel

  • 11 Nov 2015

The Laura Ashley Manor Hotel in Elstree has specified 32 Agrippa pillow alarms to accommodate a large party of deaf guests.

Situated within 10 acres of natural woodland overlooking the Hertfordshire countryside and central London, the Manor Elstree is the first Laura Ashley boutique hotel.

In urgent need of 32 pillow alarms for a party of hard-hearing guests, Geofire were contacted to provide a solution.

CEO of Corus and Laura Ashley Hotels Andrew Clayton, commented: “Our guests had a good night’s sleep secure in the knowledge that they would be alerted swiftly in the unlikely event of an emergency.

The feedback from our guests was very positive; they appreciated our understanding of their needs, and they appreciated the quality of the product.  We will certainly be working with Geofire in the future and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality product and efficient service.”

How does it work?

The Agrippa Pillow Alarm is a wire-free, battery powered unit featuring a small pad attachment that tucks under a pillow.

The device uses ‘listen and learn’ digital wire-free technology that reacts to the unique sound of a specific fire alarm. If the fire alarm is activated, the pillow pad vibrates and flashes high intensity LED lights to wake the sleeping guest.

The pillow alarm is compact and portable, meaning it can be moved around the building into any available room. It complies with elements of the 2010 Equality act and highest European standards and has an expected battery life of up to two years.
