Diffusion, British heating and cooling equipment specialist, is thrilled to announce that it now offers a CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Engineers) approved Continued Professional Development (CPD) course designed to give attendees a better understanding of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning systems.
Ideal for consultants, specifiers and installers, the free CPD, entitled ‘Understanding Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning’ explains the concept of air conditioning and explores fan coil units from selection to design and installation.
All the subjects covered in Diffusion’s new CPD are designed to aid the specification and installation of energy efficient fan coil units while providing a greater insight into the technology.
– An understanding of fan coils; the different types, benefits, components and constraints
– The difference between EC and DC motor technology
– An understanding of Specific Fan Power (SFP) and why it is important
– Control options and systems for different-sized buildings
– Ducting and the importance of Noise Ratings (NR)
Within the CPD delegates will also have the opportunity to find out more about the next generation of modular fan coil units, such as the company’s New Modular Highline 235 Fan Coil Range which won the ‘Product or Innovation of the Year – Thermal Comfort’ category of CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2024. This new range has been developed to create the perfect indoor environment, offering modular design, compact dimensions and advanced components that deliver low sound levels, reduced energy consumption, optimal performance, and significant sustainability benefits. This is timely since it comes as CIBSE introduced a mandatory requirement from 2024 for members to undertake CPD courses around sustainability and safety.
Alexis Roberts, Brand Manager at Diffusion, comments: “We’re delighted to offer delegates our new free CIBSE approved CPD course on understanding heating, ventilating and air conditioning. By attending CPD courses delegates not only expand their company’s knowledge but proactively enhance their professional capabilities and career opportunities.
“At Diffusion we are passionate about energy efficient fan coil technology and so are keen to share our knowledge. As we head towards the UK’s 2050 net-zero target it has become more important than ever before for manufacturers to help specifiers create low carbon buildings. To maximise energy savings, it is key to share knowledge and work together.”
Potential delegates for the Diffusion CPD can find out more at diffusion-group.com/cpd/ or simply email our team at cooling@diffusion-group.com to register. The Diffusion CIBSE Approved CPD is included in the Directory of CIBSE CPD Course Providers which has been compiled to assist members of the Institution in identifying suitable courses in respect of their CPD needs.
All seminars/courses are reviewed and assessed by CIBSE to ensure that the technical content is of a high standard and offers valuable CPD to delegates.
