Dish cell extension project creates 60 new jobs & increases production

  • 19 Sep 2014

Working alongside Steelite’s French and Portuguese suppliers, the Novus team carried out the work over a six month period following the demolition of eight terraced houses and a vicarage to free up space for the dish.

Novus completed work on a new transformer to ensure that the new factory has a sufficient supply of electricity, as well as building a slip house to facilitate Steelite’s clay deliveries.

To complete the redevelopment work, a compressor house and gas governor was also installed before the project was finally completed in August, allowing for production to get underway immediately.

A topping out ceremony was staged at the facility to celebrate the final episode of production, with Novus chairman, Stuart Seddon and Steelite chief executive Kevin Oakes, being in attendance.
