Architect and Channel 4 presenter, George Clarke, officially opened three days of innovation, discussion, networking and collaboration, as UK Construction Week London got underway today (12th May).

From May 12th – 14th, London’s Excel will be home to over 25,000 visitors and a myriad networking opportunities, innovative technologies, and insightful talks by keynote speakers from across the industry, as UKCW London runs alongside both Futurebuild and the Stone & Surfaces Show to  create the UK’s built environment super event.

Sponsored by Sage, Wyre, HotelPlanner, Zurich Resilience Solutions and Build Warranty, UKCW will feature over 300 leading brands; over 25 trade bodies and associations, including the Federation of Master Builders, CIBSE, and the National Association Of Air Duct-Cleaners UK.

Across six stages, the event will offer over 150 hours of CPD accredited content from key construction business leaders and those driving the industry forward, including Rt Hon Sir James Cleverly MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Housing, Communities & Local Government; Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development; and Mark Reynolds – Group Executive Chairman, Mace Group.

As well as a new Live Demonstration Zone, networking will once again be front and centre at UKCW, where visitors can attend daily sessions at the Build Connect Lounge – UKCW’s dedicated, informal networking space for industry professionals. Open to all delegates, explore a range of industry roundtables and Meet The Buyer sessions.

Sam Patel, Divisional Director, UK Construction Week London, comments…

“By bringing together three shows under one roof, visitors can see every stage of the construction process, from concept to delivery. As well as tackling the big industry issues head on, we’ll be celebrating unsung heroes with our popular Role Models campaign, and hosting a rich variety of networking events.”
