The winner of Dulux Academy‘s 2017 Dulux Academy Design and Decorating challenge, Barrie Thompson, takes his prize trip to the Graham and Brown factory in Blackburn.
The challenge, ran in partnership with Graham and Brown, offered decorators the chance to create their own wallpaper design to win a trip to the Graham and Browne factory and receive a bespoke production of the wallpaper.
Barrie’s visit to the factory enabled him to experience the creative process behind wallpaper design in the design studios and gave him the opportunity to see his design being printed as part of a factory floor tour.
Barries comments on the visit: “I had a fantastic day visiting the Graham and Brown factory and it was great to learn the full process involved in printing wallpaper. This competition has been a valuable experience and I have since taken advantage of the courses available at the Dulux Academy, including Mural Effects and Feature Walls, which has given me the opportunity to develop my industry knowledge and really enhance the technical expertise I can offer my clients.”
The Design and Decorating Challenge will be running again in October 2018, you can get in contact with Dulux Academy via the website for further information.
